CMRTA to Expand Associate Team

California Municipal Revenue Tax Administration (CMRTA) is built up of over 880 active members including city employees and municipalities across the state of California. In order to continue providing top notch benefits to their growing member base, CMRTA is looking to bring on more associates to the team.

Besides being a part of the large network possessing knowledge across many fields of interest, members of CMRTA are offered access to scholarships, career counseling, networking opportunities and receive a quarterly newsletter. An annual conference rounds out these benefits providing a perfect mix of learning with networking to foster professional growth.

In 2024, a new associate program was created to increase associate benefits and provide more options to customize your support. A new multi-tiered system offers agencies the choice to support based on their capabilities with the lowest level having an abundance of benefits to begin with. Event benefits include numerous exhibiting and associate feature opportunities at the annual conference. Branding benefits include digital highlights, regional meeting attendance and other media recognitions throughout the year. Other benefits encompass special website access, CRO ceremony recognition, and other perks that come with CMRTA.

“I am excited to branch out and meet with new agencies in fields we have not previously been as involved in,” states Ricky Hawblitzel, President of CMRTA. “More financial support means we can upgrade the member benefits into areas we never have.”

The CMRTA annual conference this year is in Ontario, California from October 9-10. Associates are invited to attend and exhibit to the member network and demonstrate their support to the organization.

Board Member Interview – Shellie Adel

I joined the CMRTA board to gain faster knowledge of business licenses. I wanted to be more involved to help enhance my position at the city. The organization was fantastic and very helpful with all my questions, so I wanted to learn more and be able to help others as well.

I worked for the City of Vacaville for almost 30 years in business license, TOT, Excise Tax, Accounts Receivable and much more. I learned more from CMRTA than anywhere else during my career.
